GOV. UDOM SHAME AKWA IBOM ENTERTAINERS.

It's going to be a gathering of champions at the Nest of Champions and Primary School, Awa, come May 29th, 2019 as the state will witness Gov. Emmanuel Udom's SECOND TERM  INAUGURATION SWEARING-IN CEREMONY.
The event is set to be very colorful as the high and mighty will gather to celebrate. The event will aslo witness performances from TOP NOTCH musical artistes and comedians within and outside the state.
Seating at the helm of affairs is Mr. Edmond Ufang Chef protocol to the governor, Mr. David Sergeant ( Utang AKS ) to mention just a few. It's a thing of joy and excitements as men, women and children are all in great anticipation to grace this August occasion in May.
Looking at the entertainers billed to perform during this state sponsored event, one needs to pause and  reflect,  I mean, it's a nice thing to bring the likes of legendary 2 Baba, KC and Harrysong to set the stage on fire. Suffice it to say that bringing these A-list artistes attract investment of huge amount of funds. I got from a reliable insider that each of the trio; 2 Baba, Kcee and Harrysong will be getting mouth watering sum of FIFTEEN MILLION NAIRA each, this excludes their flights, hotel accommodation, feeding and other incurable expenses. Looking at the above facts and figures for just three musical artistes, one should pause and ponder on the welfare of entertainers in Akwa Ibom State. Wait, are they no Akwa Ibom indigenes who are Lagos based? Why are they not on the bill? Is it to keep the old aged adage that " NYIN EME IKPONO NDIB UKOT IKAN IFUKOH? "  Moreover, what's the budget for home based artistes?  Because state based artistes are also billed to perform, I mean Akwa Ibom State A-list and comedians like; Zillions, Sir James, Sir Wilker, Shebongky Beatz, Mr. Xto, Spinosky and the like.
It will be an error on the part of the State Government if they fail to duly pay the home based artistes in a considerable manner. What I'm I even saying? When I was rightly informed that the total budget for home based artistes is a meagre sum of TWO MILLION NAIRA only 😭😭😭😭 Numb is what I've become, because our legendary Sir Wilker, Mr. X To and Pasto Goody Goody and a few others hitherto got ONE MILLION NAIRA EACH during any Government or State event. Now, their artistic fees have all been slashed to 400,000, 300,000 & some 100,000.  It's so despicable that we can be this cheated in our on homeland, most of the home based acts will not get up to 30, 000 after performing and thrilling fans in their own State Government sponsored event.  And, these are the people who live, spend and invest their monies and other resources in the state, putting all their best to support the Government and it's policies at all times. For a fact, this has been going on for far too long a time. And we've been patient about, trust me, gone are those days as, THE PATIENT DOG THAT WAITED FOR THE FATTEST BONE DIED MANY YEARS AGO. Did I tell you that the violent takes it by force? Funny enough, these same home based acts were also the ones running around during campaigns and rallied for votes for the present-day government. If not now, then when? When will they be dully rewarded?
This as a matter of urgency should be looked into, how would these home based acts attend national and global standard is all they are being payed is 20 and 30,000 in hugely budgeted STATE event? Oh! They don't deserve it abi, na why una dey call Dem LOCAL ARTISTES ABI?
Why do we keep having the same calibre of artistes in every event? Why not give some of these dully talented acts the platform to excell and also make some good monies for themselves IF AT ALL SAY DEM GO GREE PAY.
Who are we to blame; The Chief Protocol to the State Governor, SA to the Governor on Entertainment? Or the Governor himself?
We as Akwa Ibom State based artistes say;
NO TO UNDERPAYMENT OF ARTISTES.
And demand proper welfare and ARTISTES fee.
God bless Akwa Ibom State.
God bless Nigeria.
